About
Photographs, software, maps, and a lot of waiting for the right light.

Photography
I've loved photography for most of my life: taking a camera out into the world and sharing what I see, from wildlife and landscapes to cities. We live on a wondrous planet, and getting to see and photograph it has been a great joy.
Software
I enjoy solving problems with software. Early on, I built user interfaces that helped people get their jobs done faster. Later, I built 2D and 3D geospatial visualizations that help analysts see patterns in spatial data. Now I build AI-powered tools for the people who use them.
Geospatial
Visualizing spatial data, from multispectral satellite rasters to vector data, has been a focus and passion of mine. In two dimensions or three, it's a beautiful way to explore and understand the places around us.
Human–computer interaction
I studied Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley, and it has had a lasting influence on how I think. I love exploring where people and technology meet, and experimenting with new ways to interact with it, like using brain and muscle sensors (EEG and EMG) to control computers with our bodies.
